I think that any other day besides Jan 20 would have been fine. Not only is is bad for us (as a city) to agree to this, but it is actually bad that the President requests this particular day. Anyway, how selfish is it that a grown man has to ask someone else to throw a party for him to give him praise. On the other hand,as christians as many of us(and the President) claim to be, we should dig deep inside of us and say "Why do we chose this particular day?" Let us search our own souls!

I think for us to have a party for George W Bush on Jan 20th is in extremely poor taste. Jan 20th belongs to Obama. W is yesterday's news. I was thrilled to hear about George W coming to Midland and that we having a party for them until I heard when they'd be here. To celebration George W on Jan 20th makes us all look like a bunch of reactionary Klansmen! Shame on all of you!
