Rocha just added to FC Dallas' lead. It's now 2-0 in the 87th minute.
The Sockers' Rodolfo Collazo just got a a red card after taking down Andre Rocha. He will be out for the rest of the game and the Sockers will be down a man for the rest of the game. In the 86th minute it's 1-0 FC Dallas.
FC Dallas just broke the scoreless tie. Anthony Wallace took a pass from Dax McCarty and knocked it past the Sockers' new keeper Austin Stevens. It's 1-0 FC Dallas.
Just got word that attendance for the first ever game for an MLS team in the Permian Basin is 3,573.
Everson is extremely active today. He had another great shot but missed wide of the goal. in the 54th minute, it's still 0-0. in the 55th minute, Everson just had another shot this time fly over the crossbar.
At halftime, West Texas United and FC Dallas are tied at 0-0. Both teams are getting their shots in but are misfiring.
In the 39th minute, the Sockers just survived a great shot by Andre Rocha. His shot clanged off of the side of the post. Leif Craddock was completely out of position. If Rocha's aim was better, FC Dallas would have been ahead, 1-0. As it stands, it's still 0-0 in the 40th minute.
Sockers forward Ben Everson had a great chance to put the Sockers on the board first. He had a one-on-one chance against FC Dallas keeper Josh Lambo in the 30th minute, however Lambo dove to the right and deflected Everson's kick. It's still 0-0 in the 31st minute. FC Dallas has had some good opportunities but keep misfiring as well. Though give leif Craddock some credit too. He's made a couple of good saves.
The game is officially underway. Unlike the first time the Sockers and FC Dallas played on June 7 at Frisco, this game is being played in two 45-minute halves, like a real game. The last time the two teams played, it was three 20-minute periods.
For the first time ever, a Major League Soccer team will be playing in the Permian Basin as the Sockers play their home finale against FC Dallas in an exhibition game. The FC Dallas players seem to be pretty excited to be here both because it's a first for any MLS team but it's also a chance to get some more practice in against live competition. FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said he's going to use this game to get some work in for three injured players that haven't had a chance to play in about five weeks -- defenders Daniel Torres, George John and Steve Purdy. Hyndman also wants to use this game to scout future talent. The temperature is in the mid 90s and plenty of sunshine but it doesn't look like the heat is going to hurt the crowd any. It's about what you would expect to see when a professional sports team comes to town.
