I think the Craig James for Senate campaign is now officially over

We see that ESPN analyst Craig James threatened to sue Texas Tech over Mike Leach's treatment of his son, according to Texas Tech University System attorney's memo.

Here is the link

According to the AP, In a Wednesday memo to Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Texas Tech University System attorney Ronny Wall says the threat came during a December exchange with Craig James, ESPN sports analyst and father of Tech receiver Adam James.
Adam James was recovering from a concussion when he says Leach twice ordered him to stand for hours confined in a dark place during practice.
The memo, which the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal obtained in response to its open records request, says Craig James threatened to sue Tech if it didn't investigate Leach's treatment of his son.
A spokesman for Craig James says his client denies making such a threat and that Tech began investigating Leach on its own.

First, kudos to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal for good reporting here.
Second, the James spin machine still appears to be going full throttle.
Lastly, as I told KWEL's Craig Anderson this morning, I was kind of sad to see the news. It is time for Tech to pay Leach the money he deserves so he, the school and the program can move on. We believe Tech has one heck of a good coach (one I expect will be among the top 3 in the Big XII), so let's put this in the past. Hopefully the idea of the Craig James for senate campaign is only just a memory also.

Absolutely kudos to the Avalanche-Journal for their reporting.

I can't believe the ESPN folks are going to be pleased with this news back in Bristol. I think they liked having the public believe James was simply reporting a concern regarding his son, rather than actively trying punish -- and therefore influence -- the Texas Tech football program.
