RockHounds vs. Travelers Game One Live Blog

-About 90 minutes until first pitch for a game that should be a good one. One match up to watch is Travelers left-hander Trevor Reckling against RockHounds first baseman Chris Carter as both players have been selected to play in the Futures Game next week in St. Louis.

-Well, Reckling won the first battle, getting Carter to line out, but Carter earned a four-pitch walk his second time up against the southpaw. As for the game itself, the Travelers lead 5-1 after three innings. Mike Madsen lasted… Continue

Check this out from BCS hearing

BCS story

Check this story out from the hearings by Congress into the BCS.
Look at the Nebraska President's remarks. Hey, it may be harsh but at least he's honest and doesn't give us the double-talk about an academic calendar.
I like to watch teams like Utah and TCU play in big-time games, but most people want to watch Nebraska, the SEC, Texas and other big schools fight it out for the national title.
I don't know… Continue

Check this out from NASCAR

Here are two great quotes from two NASCAR drivers about Jeremy Mayfield's potential return to racing. Mayfield didn't make the deadline to race on Saturday after a judge issued an injunction against Mayfield's suspension.
No matter, these are some gems.

“If he’s out there on the race track with me, it doesn’t bother me,” Kyle Busch said. “Normally, we’re ahead of him anyway.”

“As far as racing with Jeremy, I don’t ever race with Jeremy,” Kasey Kahne said. “He’s at one end; I’m at the other.”… Continue

RockHounds vs. Missions Game Four Live Blog

-After three the Missions lead 2-1. A pair of RockHounds errors in the second led to a pair of Missions runs. After a throwing error by Adrian Cardenas, Alex Valdez dropped a throw from Josh Horton at second base that likely would have resulted in a double play. The RockHounds scored their run in the bottom of the second after a leadoff double by Chris Carter. Valdez followed with a double and Josh Donaldson drove Carter in with a single through the left side. Despite those three hits to begin t… Continue

It was obvious after a couple of series that Tech was in over its head against Oklahoma and the outcome was a foregone conclusion. If you stuck with the runaway, you missed a great game and finish on Versus between Oregon State and Arizona, won on the last play by the Beavers. And now the Civil War with the Webfoots, rechristened Ducks.
All the OU-Tech game proved that the Sooners have better players, a ghost that lingers on. When David McWilliams, or ws it Williams, came from Texas to coach Tech, he was asked the big difference between the programs, "Those big, talented offensive linemen at Texas."
