Mardi Gras is a culture in need of change

I pastored a church in south Louisiana for 10½ years before moving to Midland, which means I lived through ten Mardi Gras'.



Prior to my first Mardi Gras, the festival was only a vague image of parades, goofy or provocative costumes, and bizaar masks. I knew nothing of the meaning of the celebration, even less of its background.
