My roots run deep in West Texas.
So deep, in fact, that when my father's granddad was a little boy, he witnessed a tomahawk thrown into his parent's front porch post, by an Indian that had ridden up with his tribal 'posse', to steal horses. A real-life 'Cowboys and Indians' story. Fast forward 150 years or so, and some of my best recollections of my youth are spent out in this same wild part of Texas.
