AP: Texting A&M student ordered to pay $22 million

FRANKLIN (AP) — A jury that decided a Texas A&M student was texting while driving and caused a deadly wreck ordered him to pay $22 million in damages.

Alcohol in Andrews? No one is going to decide it for them

Appears there will be another fight to allow for alcohol sales in Andrews. I think it is facinating that the citizens in Andrews, citing best interest of the community, have been able to win this battle as long as they have. I expect a referendum this year or next will be defeated again. Say what you want about the issue, but it is being solved at the community level.

Watching a baseball game: It's the ultimate father, son experience

The sun had finally popped out from behind the puffy clouds. The small crowd in the stands was slowly expanding, eventually growing to almost 100 spectators. On the field, the players were being introduced by the man in the press box, the one behind the microphone. Each received polite applause. Then the sun went behind another cloud, only to re-emerge a few minutes later. It would be that way most of the afternoon. But that was OK ... because it wasn't long before the umpire yelled, "Play ball!"
